Here are some of our frequently asked questions (FAQs) about our thermal curtains. If you have a question about our service or your appointment, please see our general FAQs.
Thermal curtains are a type of window dressing designed with a heavier thermal lining that helps to reduce heat loss through your windows. A Thermal lining is a fabric with a single acrylic coating. This reduces the amount of heat which can be lost by transmission through the fabric. Thermal linings offer a fuller appearance, extra privacy, and they help to reduce fading and to block incoming light. What’s more, they can reduce heat loss by up to 14% above a standard polyester cotton lining.
Thermal curtains add an extra layer of insulation to your windows so they're a great way of stopping heat escaping out and cold air coming in. Always choose well-fitting curtains that provide good coverage all around the window and for maximum impact make sure you close your curtains as soon as the sun goes down. We worked with the experts at Salford University to understand how our products can help prevent heat loss. The results from their specially created lab, the 'Energy House' showed that our thermal lined curtains reduce heat loss by 14%.
