ThermaShade™ Blackout Charcoal
Skylight Pleated Blinds
If you’ve been searching for a blind that can help with heat loss, can counteract the early morning light and still look great while multi-tasking, then our new Thermashade Sisal Blackout blind in Charcoal can certainly be a contender. This heat-pressed blind uses the double layer of its structure to hold any warm air in the room and stop it escaping at the window in the way it normally would, so if draughty windows are an unwanted feature in your room then these are a great choice to deal with it. Colourwise, it’s a mid-shade of grey that’s not too overwhelming even in a smaller space, while the blackout properties make it an ideal option for a bedroom.

- Cleaning Tips
-
Regular maintenance
To keep your skylight blinds free of dust and debris, lightly vacuum with the upholstery attachment of a hand-held vacuum cleaner, but only if you can safely reach your blinds.
Cleaning light stains
For light stains, use a lint-free cloth to carefully wipe the stain with clean, warm water. Once the stain has lifted, rinse and re-apply if necessary. For stubborn stains, repeat the process above but add a little soap to the warm water. Only attempt to clean your skylight blinds if you can safely do so.
Cleaning your skylight window and frame
To clean your skylight window, make sure your blind is fully open so that you can easily reach the glass and frame. The easiest way to clean your glass is with a clean cloth and a non abrasive glass cleaning solution. If you can safely reach, you should also wipe the frame of your blind and windows with a clean duster or slightly damp cloth. - Child Safety
-
Our skylight blinds are operated using a spring system which means there are no operating cords or chains. They can be controlled from below using a remote, meaning your child will never be put at risk of having an accident when trying to reach the blind to open or close it. This makes skylight blinds inherently child safe and as such, no additional child safety devices are required.
- FAQ's
-
Do skylight blinds fit VELUX® windows?
Our skylight blinds are designed to fit nearly all types of skylight window, including VELUX®, DAKSTRA®, FAKRO®, ROOFLITE®, ROTO®, KEYLITE® and more. If you don’t know the make of your skylight window, request an in-home appointment and your local advisor will be able to tell you whether our skylight blinds are compatible with your specific window during your appointment.
What type of blinds can I have in a skylight window?
Almost all of our Pleated blind fabrics can be made-to-measure for skylight windows. Your advisor will be able to tell you whether or not your chosen fabric is suitable. And because there are so many fabrics to choose from, you can match your skylight Pleated blinds with the Pleated blinds at your windows for a coordinated look.
In addition, you can also have Venetian and Roller blinds in skylight windows.
Can I get blackout blinds for skylight windows?
Our Pleated blind fabric collection includes specialist blackout fabrics that help to reduce the amount of light coming into your room. This is especially useful for loft bedrooms where excess light and heat can be challenging. In addition to specialist blackout fabrics, our skylight window blinds include brush seals which create a barrier between the blind and the window frame, further helping to block unwanted light and reduce heat loss.
