See answers to our most popular questions about wave curtains below.

See answers to our most frequently asked questions on wave curtains. If you have a question about our service or your appointment, see our FAQs here.

    What are wave curtains?

Wave curtains are fitted onto a slim curtain track. The curtain fabric is gathered in softly rippling folds which creates a stunning wave effect, and provides a relaxed and contemporary feel for your space. Wave curtains can solve various window dressing dilemmas. They are ideal for windows where there is limited space on either side, because they fold up so neatly.

How do I measure for wave curtains?

It's surprisingly tricky to accurately measure curtains because you need to consider the width of the wave curtain track, and where to position it to make the wave curtains look as good as possible. If you want your windows to look taller and grander than they actually are, for example, you may wish to position the track nearer to the ceiling. Your local advisor will give you expert advice for you, your windows and your budget.

How do I hang wave curtains?

Some people make the mistake of pulling the pleats forward during installation, which can ruin the beautifully even folds. You don’t need to worry about this though, because your experienced local advisor will fit and even steam your made to measure curtains to ensure the fabric hangs beautifully. Measuring and fitting are included in our service

Do wave curtains meet in the middle?

    Yes, they do.

Where can our made to measure wave curtains be fitted?

Whether you have short and wide windows, bay windows or even bi fold or sliding doors that need wave curtains, it is possible to get it at Hillarys. As our made to measure curtains are created to exactly fit the width and height of your window or door, we can ensure they hang beautifully to add a modern finish to your room.

Do wave curtains help keep heat in?

Yes, all our made-to–measure curtains can help you retain the heat in your room and help to banish draughts. The curtains work by reducing the amount of air exchange between the colder windows and the rest of your room, which is warmer. Heavier curtains are more effective at insulation so it makes sense to choose a thicker curtain fabric such as velvet, along with a thermal or blackout lining. Your local advisor will give you expert advice at your in-home appointment to find the best solution for you, your space and your budget.
