Solid shutters, also known as solid panel shutters or traditional shutters are made up of solid panels without adjustable louvres.
This solid panel design completely blocks out light and helps to reduce unwanted noise when closed. Solid shutters are also great for adding an extra layer insulation to your window without compromising on a more traditional and classic style.
Yes, solid shutters are an excellent way to insulate your windows and improve the energy efficiency of your home. They offer the biggest insulation impact of all shutter styles, due to the solid design without louvres. They fit snugly at your window, helping to reduce draughts that can slip through the gaps in your frames by providing a barrier at your window that keeps the cold out and the warmth in. We worked with the experts at Salford University to understand how our products can help prevent heat loss. The results from their specially created lab, the 'Energy House' showed that our shutters reduce heat loss by 36%.
